Plot:

Takumi is a pump attendant who works by day at the gas station. Early in the morning at 4:30am, he helps his alcholic father to deliver tofu in an old Toyota AE86 Sprinter Trueno. His driving skills were just amazing, at first he took quite long to deliver it. But when he tries to speed up, he fully destroyed the tofu. As tofu are very soft and needs to be handle gently. He use a route that traverses the winding Mount Akina. When a group of street racers set their sights to conquer the route, Takumi comes to their attention as the "God of the Downhill Racers" and the gauntlet is throw. Almost against his will, supercool Takumi is in a fight to rule the road. His father often beat him when he gets drunk. But Takumi doesn't seems to care that much as he got used to the beating. At first, people mistaken that Bunta was the one that beat Takeshi at Mount Akina.
